Note: this action is available only for Webmecanik Pipeline administrators.
It exists two types of contact fields in Webmecanik Pipeline.
- Default contact fields
- Custom contact fields
You can display or hide the fields you want on the contact pages.
Default contact fields in Webmecanik Pipeline
Contact fields store data about your contacts, like their e-mail address, lastname, firstname. When creating your account, certain properties are existing by default.
Default contact fields cannot be modified. If you want to modify them, you need to create your own custom fields.
Default contact fields list
- Firstname
- Lastname
- Phone number
- Job position
- Contact type: you can define if it is a lead or a customer.
- Owner: you can assign a user to the contact. This is useful to manage your filtered viewed and manage your display permissions.
In the address area:
- Street number
- Address
- Address extra
- City
- Zipcode
- Country
You can also see the company assigned to the contact.
Native contact fields not displayed by default
- Birthdate
- Description
- Diploma
- School
- Secondary email address
- Gender
- Twitter username
- Fax number
- Secondary phone number
- Facebook profile
- Instagram profile
- Linkedin profile
- Twitter profile
- Youtube profile
- Website
Manage contact fields list and chose displayed fields
- From your Webmecanik Pipeline account, go to your top right Configuration.
- In the left side sub-menu, click Custom fields.
- Click Modify contacts cards.
- From there, you can drag & drop fields you want or don't want to display on your contact cards.
Create and modify contact custom fields
- From your Webmecanik Pipeline account, go to your top right Configuration.
- In the left side sub-menu, click Custom fields.
- Click Add field.
A modal will open asking you to define properties of your new custom field:
- Field to add on card: to define if your field is a contact, company or opportunity field.
- Field label: the name you want to give to the field (it will be visible in the user interface).
- Field type: helps to format data stored in the field:
- Single line text: short text value
- Number: value for integers
- Date: date formated dd/mm/yyyy
- Date time: date time format dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm
- Single value checkbox: list of values with single choice possible
- Multiple value checkbox: list of values with multiple choice possible
- Text area: long text value
- Cursor: generate a cursor bar
- Options & choice: this option is displayed when you select the single or multiple checkbox value.
- Make field mandatory: ability to make this field mandatory when creating the contact
- Ask field value on creation: ability to display this field on contact creation form
Edit or delete contact fields
You can edit a contact field or delete it. Users need to have the administrator rights to edit or delete a contact field.
To do this, follow steps hereunder:
- From your Webmecanik Pipeline account, access the top right Configuration menu.
- In the left sub-menu, click Custom fields.
- Click the field you want to edit or delete in the fields list:
- You can edit the field properties and click on Update.
- You can click the top right Delete button. Warning, this action is irreversible and all the data stored in this field for all the contacts will be lost.
