Managing Your Resources (PDFs, Images, Documents)
The Resources tab (located under the Components menu) acts as your file library. It allows you to centralize your documents to easily share them in your emails, landing pages, or forms.
1. Creating a New Resource
To start, navigate to Components > Resources and click on New.
Choosing the Hosting Type
Two options are available depending on where your file is stored:
Local (Recommended): You upload the file directly to Webmecanik Automation.
Advantage: The tool precisely tracks who downloads the file.
Limit: Maximum authorized size is 6 MB.
Remote: The file is already hosted elsewhere (on your website, a public Cloud Drive, or an external server).
Action: Simply copy the direct URL of the file into the dedicated field.
Pro Tip: Using Local storage allows you to trigger automated actions as soon as a contact downloads the document (e.g., increasing their lead score or adding them to a specific campaign).
2. Retrieving and Using the Download URL
Once your resource is saved, Webmecanik generates a unique Download URL.
Where to find the URL?
After saving, stay on the resource details page. The URL appears in the box on the right side of the screen.
How to use it?
This URL is designed to be copied and pasted wherever you want to offer the document:
Call to Action (CTA) buttons: In your emails or Landing Pages.
Hyperlinks: Within the body of your messages.
3. Offering a Resource in a Form
This is one of the most common use cases: providing a white paper or technical sheet after a form submission.
Go to your Form.
Add an action like "Send form results to contact" or edit the confirmation message.
You can then insert the resource link.
Alternative: Use the form action "Download a resource" so the download starts automatically as soon as the user clicks the submit button.
4. Performance Tracking
One of the great advantages of this module is visibility. On each resource page, you can monitor:
Total number of downloads.
Unique downloads (to know how many individual prospects have viewed your document).
