In Webmecanik Automation, the tracking script you place on your website directly retrieves the contact's time zone information (based on their computer settings).
This information is automatically stored in the Timezone field (a field present by default in all instances).
To enable this feature, you must set this field to be "Publicly updatable."
Thanks to this automatically populated field, you can manage multiple time zones for your contacts within your Webmecanik Automation instance.
Managing Multiple Time Zones in your Webmecanik Automation Instance
Once the Timezone field is publicly updatable, every tracked contact will have their Timezone field automatically filled with their browser's time zone at the time of tracking.
Therefore, when you schedule an email (only campaign emails) for a specific time, the contact's time zone will be taken into account, and not the instance's time zone in general.
For example:
If you have a contact in New York, John. And another one in Paris, Cécile. You schedule an email to be sent at 6:00 PM Paris time.
- The email for Cécile will be sent exactly at 6:00 PM since her time zone matches that of the instance.
- John, however, will receive the email about 6 hours later, as it will only be 6:00 PM in New York 6 hours after it's 6:00 PM in Paris.
This allows you to easily manage the best moment to send your emails, even to a contact base spread across multiple time zones.
