How to Search and Replace Values in Bulk 🛠️

To update information across multiple records simultaneously in Webmecanik Automation or Pipeline, follow these steps:

1. Select your contacts or companies

Go to your dashboard and navigate to your Contacts (or Companies) list.

⚠️ You must select the relevant contacts by checking the boxes on the left side of each row before using the replacement action.

2. Open the bulk action menu

Once you've made your selection, click the dropdown arrow at the top left of the table, next to the main checkbox. In the action menu that appears, click Search and replace.

3. Configure the data replacement

A modal window will open, allowing you to configure your update. Fill in the following three fields:

Contact field: Choose the specific field you want to modify from the dropdown menu (e.g., City, Job Title, Industry, etc.).
Current value: Enter the exact data you want to locate and replace.
New value: Enter the new data that will replace the old value.

4. Confirm the operation

Once all fields are filled out, click Replace all. Your contacts are now updated! 🎉

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) 💡

Does the system support partial matches?

No. To protect your data integrity, the system requires an exact match 🔒. The update will only apply to records where the "Current value" matches what you entered character-for-character. Partial matches will not be replaced.

Can I use this feature to clear an existing field?

Yes! If you want to erase a field's contents for your selected contacts, enter the targeted "Current value" and leave the "New value" field completely blank 🧹.

Can I apply this action to my entire database at once?

No, it is not possible to update your entire database in a single action 🛑. In Webmecanik Automation, selections only apply to the records displayed on the current page. You must process your updates page by page.

💡 Pro tip: To save time, set your table view display limit to 100 rows per page. This allows you to update up to 100 contacts at a time before moving on to the next page to repeat the process.
