Webmecanik Automation allows you to customize the address of your instance by using a dedicated subdomain. For example, if your website is [https://mysite.com](https://mysite.com), you can create a subdomain such as automation.mysite.com or webmecanik.mysite.com. This subdomain will become the exclusive new access address for your Webmecanik Automation software once the procedure is complete.
This operation strengthens the white-labeling of your tools, optimizes your email deliverability, and improves the compliance of your prospect tracking.
Prerequisites
Before starting this procedure, make sure you:
Have administrator access to your DNS zone manager (e.g., OVH, o2switch, GoDaddy, Gandi, etc.) at your domain name registrar.
Have defined in advance the name of the subdomain you want to use (e.g.,
automation.mysite.com).
Initial setup procedure step by step
Step 1: Dashboard connection
Go to your My Webmecanik space via the following address:
Step 2: Access instance configurations
On the home screen, locate the Your software (Vos logiciels) section. On the card dedicated to Webmecanik Automation (bearing the red "a" icon), click on the gear icon Configurations located in the bottom toolbar.
Step 3: Enter your custom subdomain
You are redirected to the Configuration tab of your product.
Scroll down the page to the Subdomain * (Sous-domaine *) field.
Enter the full address of your custom subdomain (example:
automation.mysite.com).
Step 4: Retrieve the DNS value to configure
Just above, in the Domain name (Nom de domaine) section, a DNS entry key is automatically displayed (for example: dns-sup-wmk.automation.webmecanik.com).
Click the copy icon to the right of the field to save this value.
Step 5: CNAME configuration at your hosting provider
Log in to your domain name management interface (OVH, o2switch, etc.) and access your DNS Zone:
Create or modify a CNAME type record for your subdomain.
Point this CNAME to the Webmecanik DNS value you copied in the previous step.
Step 6: Final validation
Once the CNAME record is set up with your host, return to My Webmecanik and click the Validate (Valider) button located to the right of the Subdomain field.
💡 Propagation time & SSL Certificate: The SSL security certificate deployment process runs automatically in the background. If an error message appears when clicking the Validate button, it means the DNS configuration has not fully propagated yet. Allow about an hour to pass, then try validating again.
How to modify my custom subdomain after it has been set up?
If a custom subdomain is already active on your instance and you need to replace it (for example, following a domain name change), the procedure cannot be finalized autonomously from your dashboard to avoid any service interruption or broken tracking on your site.
Here are the steps to follow:
Create the new CNAME: Log in to your DNS hosting provider and configure a new CNAME record for your new subdomain name.
Point to your instance's DNS value: Point this new CNAME to the technical Webmecanik address of your instance. If you don't remember it, you can easily find it by doing an online search using a "CNAME Lookup" tool on your current custom subdomain.
Contact Webmecanik support: Send a ticket to our technical team at: support@webmecanik.com. Clearly specify your old address, your new subdomain, and confirm that the CNAME is configured on your end. Our technicians will then schedule the secure switchover of your instance.
⚠️ Important: Mandatory next steps
Every time a subdomain is activated or modified, the access address to your software officially changes. To ensure the continuity of your marketing automation services, you absolutely must:
Update the tracking script: Download the new tracking script displayed on your Webmecanik interface and replace the old code present on all pages of your website.
Update your forms, landing pages and Pop-ins: If you have directly embedded form scripts or pop-in windows on your site, remember to replace them with their updated versions so they correctly point to the new custom address.
