Setting the domain name for sending emails is an important step of your marketing automation process. Without this parameter, no email will get sent from the platform. You can find all the necessary information in the technical details of the instance.
SETTING UP THE TRACKING SCRIPT ON YOUR WEBSITE:
Let the process run and when it is valid, the page will display the new instance tracking script.
We recommend that you use a cookie manager in which you can insert this script in order to be GDPR compliant in tracking your contacts. Follow this guide to set up tartaucitron.js, a simple, Open Source and GDPR compliant cookie manager.
You can also copy/paste this script on your client's website (if you don't have access to the website, ask the service provider in charge to carry out this operation for you), at the end of the web page before the </body> tag.
SETTING UP THE DOMAIN FOR SENDING EMAILS
Stay on the same menu as for the domain name configuration but go to the "email configuration" tab.
Note: If you perform this operation right after the instance is deployed, it may take a few minutes for the information to display (while the automatic script connects to Mailjet). In this case, refresh the page after a short delay to see the information appear.
You will find the setup information:
Entry of TXT entry type: Authorization to use the domain name
To register this DNS entry, create a TXT entry type with the Host name and the associated Value. Be sure to create the entry for the desired domain.
SPF entry type: Improved deliverability
In the domain name's DNS settings, create a TXT entry type with the value provided on the page.
Note: It is possible that you already have an SPF entry, except that it is not possible to have multiple entries on the same domain name. See Google's documentation for multiple SPF entries. If you already have a record, just modify the existing one with the provided value (it includes your current SPF) without creating a new entry.
DKIM entry type: Improved deliverability
For the DKIM entry, we recommend creating a TXT entry type with the Host name and the value Key. This makes it possible to put exactly the information provided (DKIM entry types and often add additional information which blocks validation).
Validation can take several hours. Once the elements have been validated, the box next to each entry will turn green:
Your Webmecanik Automation instance is now deployed and fully operational.
