In Webmecanik Automation, we give you the option of choosing the domain names you want to use to send your marketing emails. This way, the message is personalized and in your colors, which will increase your deliverability.
For example, if your company is called My Fancy Company and you own the domain name my-fancy-company.com, you'll certainly want to send your emails with an email address such as: contact@my-fancy-company.com.
Manage my sending domain names (NDD)
From your Webmecanik Portal, you can access the NDD configuration as follows:
- Click on your account icon in the top right-hand corner
- Click on My Company
- Click on the Products tab
- Then on the cogwheel of your Webmecanik Automation product
- Finally, click on the Email Configuration tab
You will then be shown the configuration to be carried out for your main sending NDD. Note that you also have the option of adding one (or more) other email NDDs. You'll need to repeat this procedure for each NDD.
Configure DNS entries for a domain name.
Select the domain name you wish to configure.
You'll be shown the different DNS entries to configure for the NDD in question.
These 4 settings have 2 purposes:
- Validate that you are the owner of the NDD in question (otherwise we won't authorize you to use it), this is the first TXT-type entry.
- To improve your deliverability, these are the other 3 configurations: SPF, DKIM and DMARC.
Configuration details
TXT type entry
This is used to give us authorization to use the domain name, proving that you are the owner.
For this DNS entry, create a TXT entry with the Host name and Value supplied.
Make sure you create the entry for the domain currently being configured (don't confuse your .fr domain with .com, etc.).
SPF Entry
Essential for improving deliverability. However, your emails can already be routed from Webmecanik Automation.
Some NDD hosts don't offer an SPF entry. In this case, create a TXT entry with the value provided on our page.
Please note: you may already have an SPF entry, but it's impossible to have multiple SPF entries for the same domain name. See this Google documentation for details of how to configure multiple SPF entries.
If you already have an SPF record, modify the existing value with our provided value (it includes your current SPF) without creating a new entry.
DKIM Entry
Once again, essential for improving deliverability. However, your emails can already be routed from Webmecanik Automation.
If your NDD host doesn't offer a DKIM DNS entry, we recommend creating a TXT entry with DKIM Name as the name and DKIM Value as the value.
DMARC Entry
This is a rich and complex subject to discuss with your IT department. We suggest a minimum configuration. Marketing senders without DMARC configuration will see their emails blocked by Gmail and Yahoo from 2024 onwards. Find out more in this FAQ.
In the meantime, if you don't have a configuration, we invite you to configure it as follows. This will have no impact, but will enable you to bypass Gmail and Yahoo limitations.
If your NDD host doesn't offer a DMARC DNS entry, we recommend creating a TXT entry with DMARC Name as the name and DMARC Value as the value.
Configuration validation
Validation may take several hours. Once the elements have been validated, the box next to each entry will turn green in your Webmecanik Portal:
