In Webmecanik Automation, you can easily import companies using a
.csv file. For the creation to work properly, your file must include the company names, which serve as the default unique identifier.π‘ Good to know: You can set a different unique identifier in your settings (in France, SIREN or SIRET numbers are standard references).
βοΈ Importing from the Companies Page
From the Companies tab, you can import data related exclusively to companies. The interface provides a clear, streamlined layout:
- Click the small gear icon located to the left of the purple New button.
- Select Import from the drop-down menu.
- Click Choose a file to upload your
.csvfile. - Check and select the correct column separator, then click Upload to move to the next step.
π Field Mapping
At this stage, match the column headers in your
.csv file with the existing company fields in Webmecanik. You also have access to advanced options:
- Owner: Assign a default owner to these companies. π€
- Segmentation: Select a specific segment to automatically group the contacts assigned to these companies. π―
Data Overwriting Rules:
- By default, the Don't overwrite value if already exists option is set to No. This means the import will update and overwrite old values with new ones.
- β οΈ If you want to overwrite an existing value with a blank field (clear the data), you must set Overwrite with blank value to Yes.
Once field mapping is complete, finalize the operation by clicking Start Import. π
π₯ Importing from the Contacts Page
If you want to import contacts and their respective companies at the same time, go to the Contacts page.
- From your contact list, open the import menu (via the gear icon or the arrow next to New).
- Upload your
.csvfile, verify the column separator, and click Upload and Match Fields.
π Contact & Company Mapping Specifics
Here, the interface requires you to match fields for contacts as well as fields for companies.
π‘ Important: The contact's email address is required at this step so the system can properly assign the contact to the correct company.
Once field matching is verified, start the importation by clicking Start Import. β
