In Webmecanik Automation, you can import your companies directly from a .csv file.
The .csv file must include the company name which is the default unique identifier.
Note that you can define another unique identifier (the best being to use the company registration number).
Import from the Companies page
From this page, you can only import companies. Click on the top right drop down menu and press the Import submenu.
Click the Choose File button to upload your .csv file. Be careful to fill in the correct column separator then press the Upload button to go to the next step.
At this stage, you need to map the .csv file headers to company fields.
You also have the option to choose an owner for these companies as well as select a segment that will group contacts assigned to these companies.
By default, the option Do not overwrite value if it already exists is set to No, this configuration allows the import to overwrite old values with new values. Note, that to be able to overwrite a value with an empty value, the Overwrite with empty value option must be set to Yes.
Once you are done mapping the fields, click the Import in background button or the Import from browser button.
Import from Contacts page
From this page, you can import contacts and their respective companies. To proceed, click on the arrow to the right of the New menu, then press the Import sub-menu.
Click the Choose File button to upload the .csv file, then press the Upload button to go to the next step.
At this stage, you must match the headers of the .csv file and the company fields as well as the contact fields.
Note that the contact's email address is required to correctly assign the contact to the company as far as it is the contact unique identifier.
Once you have finished mapping the fields, click the Import in background button or the Import from browser button.
