The Segment Assistant (located on the right side of your screen) is an AI-powered tool designed to translate your marketing intent into technical filters. Instead of manually searching for each field and operator, you simply describe your target audience in plain English and Webmecanik is doing the rest!
1. How does it work?
The assistant analyzes your prompt to identify three key components:
The Field: Which data point are we looking at? (e.g., city, creation date, lead score).
The Operator: What is the rule? (e.g., equals, greater than, contains).
The Value: What is the specific target? (e.g., "London", "100", "Customer").
2. The Golden Rule: Prompt Precision
The AI's accuracy depends entirely on the clarity of your request. To ensure the assistant selects the correct fields and operators, avoid vague language.
How to structure effective prompts:
| Request Type | Effective Prompt Example | Resulting Logic |
|---|---|---|
Geographic Targeting | "Contacts whose city is London or Bristol" | Uses the Including one of operator |
Behavioral | "Contacts who visited the /pricing page at least 3 times" | Uses Behavioral filters with frequency |
Score & Status | "Contacts with a score over 50 and country is UK" | Combines two filters with the AND operator |
Exclusion | "Contacts who do not have a phone number" | Uses the Phone field with the Empty operator |
3. Steps to Generate Your Segment
Open the Assistant: Click the sparkles icon or the "Segment Assistant" side panel.
Write your request: Enter your prompt in the field labeled "Describe the contacts you want to target...".
Generate: Click the purple arrow (or press Enter).
Review: The filters will automatically populate in the main area. You can then refine or adjust them manually if needed.
4. Best Practices
Use exact field names: If you have a custom field named "Contract Type," use that exact phrase in your prompt.
Combine criteria: You can request complex segments in a single sentence (e.g., "My customers living in London who opened the last email").
Human Verification: While the AI is powerful, always double-check that the chosen operator (e.g., "contains" vs. "equals") matches your specific targeting needs before saving.
[!IMPORTANT]
Once the filters are generated by the assistant, don't forget to click the Save & Close button at the top right to finalize your segment.
