The anti-bot filter helps ensure that click statistics in your email campaigns reflect your contacts' actual engagement, rather than the activity of bots or security software.
⚙️ Effective two-level detection
Our filtering solution first analyzes background behavior to automatically block some bots. To distinguish a human from a bot, the system uses multiple advanced parameters:
- The frequency and speed at which clicks are performed.
- Cross-referencing with public lists of IP addresses known to belong to bots.
- In-depth analysis of connection logs.
However, as automatically opening bots and security scanners become increasingly sophisticated, it is now possible to add additional protection by displaying a confirmation page before opening your link.
On this page, the user is simply asked to click a "Continue" button to prove that they are a real person and not an automated scanner. To avoid degrading your contacts' experience, this verification will only be requested once every 30 days per browser.
🚀 How do you configure the intermediate confirmation page?
You can use the default integrated page or configure a fully customized intermediate page. To set it up, follow these steps:
- Go to Settings (accessible via the gear icon).
- In the side menu, click Email settings.
- Scroll down to the Click confirmation page section.
- Enable the Display a confirmation page before opening the link option by switching the button to "Yes".
- In the page selection drop-down menu, you can then choose:
- The Page integrated into the system.
- The Create your own custom page... option to design a custom landing page using your brand colors.
- A redirect page that you may have already created.
💡 Pro tip: Prioritize creating a custom page. This allows you to ensure the reliability of your statistics while providing a smooth experience that is consistent with your brand image!
📝 What about CAPTCHA for forms?
This filter exclusively concerns the verification of clicks in emails. The way CAPTCHA works for your Webmecanik forms remains completely unchanged. You can continue to configure and use it as usual to protect your lead capture forms.
