Conditionals fields are dynamic fields that will be shown depending on the answer of the previous question.
Very useful to segment your contacts, this feature improve your forms and simplify them for you contacts
To setup conditional form, there is two important steps :
The first one is to create the main field, the one which answers the following questions.
This field will have to be of “checkbox group”, “select”, “radio group” or “country list” type.
When you create a field of one of these types, you will see a new option once the field is created.
This new button allows you to add the “dependents” fields of this one.
In our exemple our company can ask :
- the sport the contact does : Ski or Snowboard
- the equipment the contact wants
- For the Ski : (Ski/helmet/shoes/sticks)
- For the Snowboard : (Board/Boots/Helmet)
Depending on the answer provided on question 1, the next field you want to display will be 2.a. OR 2.b.
To do that click on the “Add field based on selected value” button.
This will open a classic field creation windows, except for a new tab called “condition”
This tab is the one that will allow you to choose on which answer this field will be displayed or not.
So if you select the “include” “ski” value, this question will only appear if the contact answers “ski” to the previous question.
You can also choose to display the field after any value or when answers are not selected by selecting the “exclude” filter.
Once this parameter is set and your field validated, you will find the field in your list as a “dependent” field of the main one.
Repeat the operation as many times as needed to complete your conditional fields.
Here is how those fields will look like in the field list of a form
