Within automation, it is possible to create select type fields. These are fields that have different pre-defined values (but contacts can have only one).
To create select fields, go on the custom fields window and create a new field.
- Give a name to the field, choose if it is contact or company field then choose the type of the field. Here it is a select field.
- After clicking on select, it will display labels and values to fill.
The label is the name of the option. It will be displayed in the contact sheet, when using tokens in emails or in the segment filters.
Values are used with imports or synchronisation with integrations.
It is mandatory to add values. It can be the same as the label or different.
Example with same and different values.
Label and value are the same for the option "test1" but different for option "test2".
How to import contacts with a select field ?
In the CSV file, you need to display values (not labels) in the column.
Import contacts, map the column with your select field then check contacts.
John has the option "test1".
Johan has the option "test2".
