It means contacts could gain points without getting in campaigns or gaining points with a form action.
To set up scoring actions:
- Click on "Points".
- Then click on "Manage actions".
- Click on "New" to create a new rule.
- The set up window will open.
Give a name to the rule and choose how many points you would like to set up.
"When a contact..." field allow to choose on what action the rule will be executed.
Few actions are available:
- Emails openend,
- Emails sent,
- Form submissions,
- Assets downloaded,
- URL visited,
- Landing page visited.
WARNING : By default general scoring rules apply only once for contacts. For example, if there is a rule set up on a submission forms (any forms), contacts that will submit a second form won't gain points a second time.
However, you can activate the repetition option to allow an action rule to be repeat by a contact. Just click the "Is repeatable" button in the edit panel of a point action.
Emails sent or emails openened
You can select a specific email or let it empty and the rule will apply for all emails.
You can select a specific form or let it empty and the rule will apply for all forms.
You can select a specific asset or let it empty and the rule will apply for all assets.
Add the URL you want to score. It is possible to use the * that allow to translate by "contains". For example : https://www.yoursite.com can be written *yoursite.com* (it means the url should contain this) or www.yoursite.com/products/* (it means the URL should contains this before).
It is also possible to define a number of visited pages before gaining points.
Landing page visited
It is the landing pages created with automation. If empty the rule will apply on all landing pages.
