Emails are fundamentals in your Marketing Automation strategy.
How to create emails with Webmecanik Automation ?
- Click on "Channel" then "Emails".
- Click on "New" to create emails.
- Choose between "template email" (email sent through campaigns) or "Segment email (emails sent manually to segments).
- Fill the right part:
- Subject*: it is the subject that will appear on mailboxes.
- Internal name*: name that you give to easily identify email in your instance.
- Contact segment*: segment(s) that will receive emails. This field is only available if you chose to create a segment email.
- Category: To add a category to emails.
- Language: you can add a language to emails.
- Is a translation of: lf an email has a language assigned (as below), it is possible for another email to precise that this email is a translation of another email.
- Published: it is necessary to publish email otherwise emails won't be sent.
- Publish at: Allow to add a publish date. Even if you add a publish date, you must click on YES to publish it. If you chose a segment email, this option allow to automatically send email at the publish date, please consult the article How to schedule segment's email.
- Unpublish at: set a date to unpublish emails.
- Unsubscribe feedback form: Allow to assign a form when contact unsubscribe. That mean when contacts click on the unsubscribe link, they will land on the page with the form chosen.
- Preference center page: Allow to assign a preference center. When contacts will click on the the unsubscribe link, they will land on the preference center. Please consult the article How to create the preference center.
- It is possible to add UTM tag to emails.
- Second step consist to choose a theme.
- There are many theme per default in instances. It is also possible to develop your own theme and import it within Automation.
- The other option is to choose the code mode. That mean the email is built in HTML/CSS.
With a theme
- Once the theme chosen, click on the "Builder" to start creating email.
- The builder consist to drag and drop blocs.
- Be careful, each theme is built differentely, that means sometimes it can not be possible to place bloc wherever you want (because the code of theme does not allow it).
- Here are the different blcos:
- When you added a bloc, click on it to edit it in the right part.
- This zone allow to modify text, font, size, color etc...
- It is possible to use contact field in emails. You must add the token {contactfield=alias}. The must modify the alias by the real alias of the contact field. Fore more information about it, please read this article.
- It is possible to remove bloc by clicking on the cross.
Code mode
- Once code mode chosen, click on the "Builder" to start creating emails.
- The left part is the preview of emails. The right part is the edition of email in HTML/CSS.
- It is possible to use contact field in emails. You must add the token {contactfield=alias}.Â

Advanced tab
- This tab allow to customize the sender name, sender address and add a reply to address.
- If these fields are let empty, then it is the default configuration (configuration > emails settings) that will be taken into account.
- From name: It is the sender name, for example Johan.
- From address: It is the sender address. BE CAREFUL if you customize this email address. You can use a false address as soon as the domain name has been validated on your instance. If you wish to use another domain name, it has to be validated on your instance first, otherwise emails won't be sent. If you want to add a new domain name, please send email to support@webmecanik.com
- Reply to address: allow to add a reply to address if needed.

Dynamic content tab
If code has been chosen as a theme, a new tab will be displayed, the "dynamic content".

Once email is done, close the builder then save and close.
- You land on a new window. This is the email sheet that display statistics.
- It is possible to dispjelay preview of emails by clicking on the logo below.
- You can also send example emails. You must know that webview and unsubscribe links as well as contact field token do not work on example emails. You must send a real email for that.
- If you chose a segment email, there is another option which is "Send". This is from here that you send segment emails.
